Placed under the responsibility of the DGA, the Defense Innovation Agency (AID) was created on September 1, 2018 by Florence Parly, Minister of the Armed Forces. It federates the Ministry's innovation initiatives by ensuring the coordination and coherence of all innovation approaches. While pursuing work relating to technological innovation over the long term, the Agency is the sensor of opportunity innovations for the benefit of all end-users whatever their fields: conduct of operations, equipment, support, operations, administration. In the medical field, the Defence Innovation Agency (AID) has a range of funding mechanisms at its disposal to promote research and innovation, taking into account the specific nature of employment and the particular needs of the medical practices of practitioners in the armed forces health service, as well as those of care-givers deployed in the forces. The aim of these experiments is to adapt civilian systems to the specific needs of the armed forces health service.
